State Rep. Doug Collins (R-Gainesville) represents the 27th district which includes portions of Hall, Lumpkin, and White counties.
A former small business owner and current managing partner at Collins & Csider, Doug practices law in Gainesville while serving as a Chaplain in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He is presently serving his third term in the Georgia House and was named one of Governor Deal's Floor Leaders in January 2011. Doug and his wife Lisa, a school teacher, have been married 23 years. They have three children; a daughter, Jordan, 19 and two boys, Copelan, 15, and Cameron, 13. They are members of Lakewood Baptist Church.
I strongly support the full repeal of Obamacare. According to the Heritage Foundation, the U.S. spends roughly $2.6 trillion on healthcare. Under President Obama’s health care policy, the government will control over half of all health care spending by 2019. Our health care system needs major reform, not more government control. We must move away from a big government, bureaucracy-driven system to a more patient-based system centered on consumer choice and free market competition.
