Family Research Council Action has released its annual Scorecard for members of Congress who demonstrate an unwavering commitment and consistent support of faith, family, and freedom. I am proud to have scored a perfect 100% on this year’s scorecard.
It is a privilege to represent Georgia’s 9th District, and the conservative values of Northeast Georgians. I will continue to defend life, protect the institution of marriage, and stand up for family values. I will always speak up to protect the sanctity of human life, and give a voice to the unborn, who cannot defend themselves.
As a Baptist pastor and a Chaplain in the Air Force reserve, I will continue to advocate for religious freedom, and the guiding principles like honor, integrity, and liberty, upon which our nation was founded.Read more
Throughout my time as an elected official in both the Georgia legislature and in Congress, I have worked tirelessly to fight for and protect the lives of the unborn.
- Prohibits abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy since scientific evidence suggests that unborn children can feel intense pain after this length of time (H.R. 36)
- Would restrict Title X federal funding from going to abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood (H.R. 217)
- Offers full exemption from Pres. Obama’s Health and Human Services mandate and protects individuals and health care entities that refuse to provide, pay for, or refer patients to abortion providers because of their deeply held beliefs (H.R. 940)
I fought to include the Hyde amendment in the 2015 Omnibus, which specifically prohibits federal funding from going to abortions. I also endorsed a letter to Appropriators prior to the passage of the Omnibus, expressing the need for numerous pro-life policies to be continued and additional policies to be included.
My record is clear. I have fought and will continue to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. Stand with me as we take on Planned Parenthood, because every child deserves a birthday.
